[Debt Snowball] End of August 2017 update

August was a good month for paying down debt, but there were also some unusual expenses that popped up and slowed my progress. The big news from August is that I was able to pay off the Personal Line of credit that I had opened in February to consolidate my credit card debt!

Here’s a snapshot of where I am at the end of August 2017:

  • Capital One Credit Card current balance – $0.00
    PAID OFF! starting balance at beginning of January 2017: $1,392.73
  • Credit Union Line of Personal Credit current balance - $0.00
    PAID OFF! starting balance at beginning of February 2017: $6,446.31
  • Car Loan current balance- $4,874.75
    starting balance at beginning of January 2017 $7,431.64
    $2,556.89 paid off this year.
    Estimated pay off date: December 2017
  • Student Loan #1 current balance - $6,407.88
    starting balance at beginning of January 2017 $7,805.57
    $1,397.69 paid off this year.
    Estimated pay off date: April 2018
  • Student Loan #2 current balance - $9,288.21
    starting balance at beginning of January 2017 $9,749.15
    $460.94 paid off this year
    Estimated pay off date: September 2018
  • Student Loan #3 current balance - $13,742.28
    starting balance at beginning of January 2017 $14,452.24
    $709.96 paid off this year
    Estimated pay off date: April 2019

TOTAL DEBT PAID OFF SO FAR IN 2017: $12,964.52

TOTAL DEBT LEFT TO PAY – $34,313.12 ESTIMATED PAYOFF DATE – APRIL 2019
