Last week we took a quick trip to visit our friends in Chicago. They’ve lived in the South Loop for about 5 years now, and this is the amazing view from their apartment. We got into town late Friday night, so when we got up Saturday morning we were ready to go.
Our first stop was breakfast. We hit up Yolk in the South Loop and there was a crowd of people outside. It looked like the wait would be over an hour, but we were seated within 15 minutes.
The service was quick, and the food was good. I ordered a simple staple: eggs over easy with turkey sausage.
Mike and I ordered their pumpkin spice french toast special, and it was probably the best thing I ate on the entire trip. It was super indulgent, and packed with a cream cheese frosting style filling. Topped with whipped cream, cinnamon apple slices, and craisins. It was dangerously delicious.
Mike’s eggs benedict was also on point.
Chicago lived up to it’s nickname Saturday as we walked through wind gusts all day long.
Mike’s best Michael Jackson impression.
