The past couple of years, I’ve been obsessed with listening to wellness podcasts and researching things that are good for my body. In the beginning of 2017, I ditched coffee and started substituting it with this superfood, adaptogen rich smoothie. I usually finish my smoothie around 8:30am, and I stay full until noon thanks to the collagen protein and the fat from the avocado.

I am OBSESSED with this smoothie. It’s my favorite meal, I look forward to it every morning. However, my husband taste tested it and he was not down with it. If you’re not used to the flavors of the spices and herbs below, you may or may not find this as tasty as I do. Sometimes eating healthy is an acquired taste. If you had given me this recipe 5 years ago, I would have spit it out. Now, I can’t get enough of it. So, if you like the benefits of the ingredients listed below, give it a try with an open mind. It may or may not change your life as much as it has changed mine.

Directions:
Put all of the above ingredients in your Nutri Ninja AutoIQ* and select Ultra Blend. If you are using a different style blender, blend for about 60 seconds. You may find pulsing to help break up the ice cubes and frozen banana.

Once blended, if you need to consume on the run, you can put in a shaker bottle. Add the chia seeds, but I would recommend leaving out the coconut if you’re drinking on the go. Shake until seeds are well blended throughout the smoothie.

Alternately, you can pour into a bowl and sprinkle the coconut and chia seeds on the top to make a delicious and filling smoothie bowl.
